NATACHA VALLA APPOINTED DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION AT SCIENCES PO
Paris, May 12nd 2020 - Frédéric Mion, President of Sciences Po, has appointed Natacha Valla Dean of the School of Management and Innovation. She will take up her position at the start of the next academic year.
Natacha Valla has spent all her career at the frontiers of the scientific, economic and political worlds, both in France and internationally. She has acquired proven expertise across these fields, while applying them in positions of the highest responsibility. Deputy Director General for Monetary Policy at the European Central Bank (2018-2020), Valla was formerly Director of International Economic Research at Goldman Sachs, Deputy Director of the CEPII and Head of the Policy and Strategy Division of the European Investment Bank.
Valla holds a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence and a master’s degree in economics from the universities of Lyon 2 and Georgetown. She has taught at HEC, Sciences Po and New York University Abu Dhabi. She is a fellow of the Paris School of Economics.
Her knowledge of the world of business has been enriched by work on the boards of directors of several major firms, including LVMH, Accor, Tikehau Capital and ASF/Cofiroute.
She will replace Marie-Laure Salles-Djelic, who has been appointed Director of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva.
