One year after the Russian invasion, Ukrainian refugee students at Sciences Po organize a special day

ONE YEAR AFTER THE RUSSIAN INVASION, UKRAINIAN REFUGEE STUDENTS AT SCIENCES PO ORGANIZE A SPECIAL DAY

Paris, February 22th, 2023 - Since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Sciences Po has shown itself faithful to its tradition of commitment for peace and solidarity by opening its doors to students in exile and currently welcomes 32 Ukrainian students.
One year, to the day after the launch of the Russian aggression, “365 days of war in Ukraine” gives a speech opportunity to Ukrainian national speakers: political leaders, public actors, experts…
The event has both a scientific and an artistic dimension, including two exhibitions, and finally a personal aspect, with a staged testimony given by Masha Isakova, a Ukrainian actress living in France. A fundraising session is also being organized.

- 1:10pm – 1:50pm : Inna Sovsun, Ukrainian MP, member of the Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities Services of the Verkhovna Rada, former deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine from 2014 to 2016, “Eurointegration during the war: path and obstacles”
- 2:20pm – 3:00pm : Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Head of the Secretariat of Ukraine’s National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance. PhD in Economic Sociology in 2004 from the University of Cambridge (U.K.), “Creative destruction in war: the end of post-soviet and the birth of a new ukrainian habitus”
- 3:10pm – 3:50pm : Dmytro Lyvch, Chairman of EasyBusiness Think Tank / Co-founder of the Center for Economic Recovery, “Cohesive Ukraine: Regional Economic Recovery through EU Integration”
- 4:00pm – 4:40pm : Petro Burkovskiy, Executive director of the democratic initiatives foundation, “Conflicting futures: can Europe survive without Ukraine and can Ukraine continue struggle without Europe”
- 4:50pm – 5:30pm : Margo Didichenko & LiletBreddels (Ro3kvit: Urban Coalition for Ukraine) , Ro3kvit Urban Coalition for Ukraine is a network of Ukrainian and international experts in architecture, urban planning and related topics, who united to develop knowledge and methodologies for rebuilding Ukraine, “Ro3kvit Urban Coalition: rebuilding - rethinking - reinventing Ukraine”
- 5:40pm – 6:20pm : Ivana Stradner, Research fellow at The Foundation for Defense of Democracies and special correspondent at Kyiv Post, “Propaganda, censorship, disinformation in Russian-Ukrainian war”
Art performances program:
- February 24th, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm: The interactive exhibition "War up Close" explores life in Ukrainian cities before and after the Russian attacks. It includes photographs and objects that illustrate the destruction of homes, businesses, cultural, public and social infrastructure. This is a one-day event organized exclusively on the anniversary of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. The exhibition is organized by CFC Big Ideas LLC and Funberry LLC jointly with the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, with the support of USAID and the Embassy of Ukraine in France.From February 20th to 24th: two exhibitions presenting the photographs of Ukrainian war reporters are organized at Sciences Po and visible to all.
- February 24th, 2023, 7:00 pm: "Confession of a Ukrainian woman, artistic performance by the Ukrainian actress Masha Isakova, who has been living in Paris for more than 10 years.
