Sciences Po Presidency:
The FNSP Board will vote tomorrow
Paris, 9 November 2021 - Following the examination of the proposals submitted by the 3 candidates for the presidency of Sciences Po, the Board of the Institut d'Études Politiques, chaired by Jeanne Lazarus, has today selected Mathias Vicherat. He was nominated by 21 votes out of 28, against 2 votes for Christine Musselin, 2 votes for Olivier Faron and 3 blanck votes.
The Fondation nationale des sciences politiques’ Board of Directors will vote tomorrow. If the two Boards are in agreement, the name of the selected candidate will be sent to the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
As provided for in the statutes, in the event that the two Sciences Po Boards do not concur, the Boards will meet on 11 November with a view to adopting a common position that will be submitted to a vote by each Board.
The IEP’s Board of Directors consists of 31 members. It brings together representatives of the permanent faculty, representatives of the academic world outside Sciences Po, students and employees. It also includes key partners of the Sciences Po of today (representatives of campuses’ local authorities, representatives of the State, the USPC ComUE, CNRS).
