Sciences Po becomes the leading French university in social sciences and reaches the 39th position worldwide in the Times Higher Education ranking

Paris, October 27th, 2022 - Sciences Po has been ranked among the world's top 40 universities in social sciences by the Times Higher Education (THE). These results testify to the excellence of Sciences Po. They underline the quality of teaching and research within the institution in the disciplines that the THE classifies as social sciences. 

By reaching this year the 39th place in the world in the field of social sciences, Sciences Po has moved up 11 places compared to last year. Over the last two years, Sciences Po has moved up 29 places in this ranking.
In France, Sciences Po has reached the first position in the ranking, confirming its status as an international research university in the field of social sciences.

Sciences Po’s performance this year is closely linked to its research activity and internationalization.
Sciences Po was indeed particularly valued for its research (+8 points) and teaching (+4 points) activities. Sciences Po maintains its position in terms of quotations in the scientific publications, a criterion that measures the influence of research at a global scale.
Furthermore, the “international profile” indicator, which measures the attractiveness of the institution to students and academics, remains at a high level. With nearly 50% of international students and 150 nationalities represented within its student body, Sciences Po has a truly open and attractive international feature, welcoming more than 1,300 exchange students this semester from its 470 partner universities.
